What a weekend we had at the Checker Distributors Open House in Maumee, Ohio! It is amazing how they transform their warehouse and offices into a mini-market for quilt shop owners. People came from all over the country to take advantage of the live demos, presentations and of course, the SHOPPING!

The amount of fabric, notions, demos and information at this event is so impressive. If you own a quilt shop, plan to go next year.  There is no charge to shops for this event!! The 65th Checker Open House is scheduled for August 25 & 26, 2013.

Here is the lunch room – with inspiration galore! Did I mention that Checker provides lunch both days??

The demonstrators and presenters this year included Alex Anderson, Among Brenda’s Quilts, Anything But Boring, Buttermilk Basin, Checker You, Clover, Cozy Quilt Designs, Creations Sew Clever, Cut Loose Press, Gypsy Quilter, In The Patch Designs, Judy Niemeyer Quilting, June Tailor, Lazy Girl Designs, Lecien, Liesl & Company, Q.P. Quilts, The Quilt Company, Quilts Illustrated, Shannon Fabric, Smith Street Designs, Sue Hausmann, The Teacher’s Pet, Time To Quilt, Transfer-Eze and us!

Here is our Circle Savvy Ruler in the Top 10!

Judy Niemeyer provided a great demonstration on using her new Double Wedding Ring templates from Creative Grids. They work with all of her double wedding ring patterns. Check out this beauty!

One of the best things about the Checker Open House? Seeing my daughter, Alyssa, who moved to Ohio last year to become a buyer for Checker.
